Three Legged Stool Workshop 11th April 2026

£160.00

Three legged stool

Course leader: Alex Webster of ‘Bill’s Yard’, Totnes

One-day course £160.00

You’re warmly invited to join us at the Branscombe Bakery to discover the joy of working with wood. The workshop will be held in the orchard among the apple blossom as long as the weather is accommodating (otherwise in Branoc Hall across the road)

Lunch, cakes and hot drinks are included and will be served in the cosy Old Bakery. Please let us know if any dietary requirements in advance.

Making a stool is a rewarding introduction to the joy of working with traditional hand tools on local wood.

During the day you will learn to shape legs with a draw knife and spoke shave, then shape and mortise the seat before fitting all parts together.

Open to beginners as well as intermediate crafters who want to refine their skills.

Over 16’s only

We ask participants to arrive at 9.20am for a 9.30am start. We aim to finish by 5.30pm but the day may be longer or shorter depending on how the work progresses.

The course fee covers tuition, tools, materials and refreshments.

Postcode EX12 3DB. Parking at the village hall by donation in the wishing well.
